A couple of photos taken at the outset of the major thaw we just enjoyed. This sort of ice and snow is not around anymore, glory to God.

I don't have any new photos, but that's ok. I really didn't want to get more SNOW photos anyway. Sick of it. But the forecast is calling for much warmer temps up here, meaning upper 40's to upper 50's over the next 5-6 days at least. So now I have Spring fever. Here's a photo from last Spring.

It's snow, snow and more snow lately in Chicagoland. I went out late one night when the wind stopped and the temps weren't so unbearable and walked around my neighborhood for these. Getting a few more inches of snow today with a lot of wind and drifting snow on the roads. Ugh.

After spending time out of town trying to figure out what my identity is as a Baptist, I spent the next day with my awesome kids. We dug a tunnel through snow piles near our church parking lot. This is Elijah in the middle. The second photo is the Arch in St. Louis captured on the way home.

My face sepia-fied in Joe Thorn's passenger side mirror on the way to Tennessee. Man, I'm looking forward to getting home. Great trip, but I miss my family.
My Valentine

The GM FYI blog posted one of my photos today for Valentine's Day. Very cool.
Thanks to Alicia over at gmblogs.com.

The view from the front of our house after a light snow this week. Now that is love, baby. Happy Valentine's Day, I guess. And since we are headed that direction, here's my Valentine...

Here's a picture I took of Mt. Rainer while on a plane. I typically have no excuse for having no new photos. This week my church got me a new laptop and I can't find my software to load on it. So I can't download photos (and don't want to on my old laptop). With that, I haven't even taken my camera out with me. See, a better excuse. Hold my feet to the fire to have some new pictures next week.

Still not getting out to take photos, so here's a favorite barn photo of mine.

It's been a rough week with my Grandpa passing away and I have nothing new for you. Here's an oldie taken just outside Woodstock, IL.

First photo is from a couple of weeks ago. A narrow sidewalk along a creek near our house. Second photo is from last winter, but I thought it would be fun to revisit.

My boys and I made a day of it last Saturday at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. What a great day. That's the Sears Tower buried in the clouds in the first photo. That's Soldier Field in the second.

I finally got out a bit for some new photos last night. The fog was rolling in, so I grabbed my d50 and tripod and walked to the schools near our home. The top photo is a broken basketball hoop at the elementary school where my two oldest kids go. The bottom is a playground behind my 6 year olds' school.

This is the Christmas Tree at Daley Plaza in Chicago. My wife and I received free tickets Wednesday morning for A Christmas Carol at Goodman Theater on Wednesday night. So we found a babysitter, hopped on a train, ate some P.F. Changs and enjoyed a show in downtown Chicago. I took these photos after the play as we walked back to the train station.

I haven't been out to take pictures. The weather here has been brutal, and I enjoy whining a lot. Should be better weather next week. I won't have any excuses. For now, enjoy one of my first photographs with a real camera (my Nikon d50). This is the Old Court House in Woodstock, IL that is now used as an art gallery. This photo was taken last December.

I took a few late night pictures of my church a couple of weeks ago. This is my favorite.

Two Chicago subway photos from this week. The first is the train, the second is the tracks/tunnel. Enjoy!

Sorry for the late Phriday Photo post. The first photo is of a young trick-or-treater with his mom. The second is of a footbridge near my house late at night. That's me walking on it. Go see Halloween photos of my kids, especially this stud. Arrgh, it was a super time.
