Sorry I don't have much in terms of new photos this week, but I do have this photo of my smokin' hot wife who has pretty much completely recovered from her Chiari 1 Malformation surgery 3 weeks ago. She has now starting driving and is doing incredibly well post-surgery. We are so blessed and thankful, so I offer you this wonderful view of her.

Welcome to an extended edition of Phriday is for Photos. I'll throw in a couple of extras this week.
A smattering of newer photos. Stuff from the University of Chicago hospital and area. Stuff from the week prior. Enjoy all my photography.

A few photos for you. The first is a skateboarder in our church parking lot during a picnic. I used a panning technique to keep him in better focus as the background blurs more. The second is obviously some Woodstock, IL fireworks. The third is my youngest, Danny, who is the cutest kid on the planet.

Lots of seeing doctors this week. The first is on the trip to Chicago for a neurosurgeon appointment. This blur was taken in an urban I90 tunnel. The second is Elijah waiting for staples in his cranium. See the rest of my photography.

Man, I just don't have anything new. But here is an oldie I love. Check the rest of my photography, including the 10 pictures most people have added as a "favorite" on Flickr.

The first is my lovely wife's feet at the pool. Dangit, even when her face is out of focus she rocks my world! The second is a favorite of my kids from last summer with their feet firmly planted on the bean. I'm thinking of them a lot as Father's Day approaches, and as their mother is suffering right now. Check out the rest of my photography, especially this delicious photo of my family, which I had forgotten about until a couple of days ago.

Some Milwaukee Zoo photos, as well as one of Danny looking as if someone peed in his Capri Sun.

A few photos of non-family members. Both are the children of church members. The first is Mitchell, who played his trumpet during the Memorial Day parade in Woodstock. This photo is obviously after the parade. The second is Kimmy, who was running around in the field behind our house after a small group cookout.

The McCoy family spent a little time away from home this week, enjoying time together. These are photos from that trip (centering the first isn't working, so click here for a better view).
I'm also including a family video below with some mini-golf footage as well as me following the kids through a huge indoor playground. By the time I made it through I was sweating and exhausted. I think they made it for shorter/smaller humans. All good fun. Check out the rest of my photography on my Flickr site and the rest of our uploaded videos on my YouTube page.

Some musicians were playing at the Saturday Farmer's Market in Woodstock last week. Beautiful day, beautiful music.

A cute little yellow duckling followed some neighborhood kids home from school and right through my yard. Had to grab a few shots of them. This is the same duck in both photos and the other is found on my Flickr stream.

It was beautiful warm weather in Louisville, Kentucky early this week as Joe Thorn and I enjoyed some Scotch Eggs, conversations on art, culture and church with Daniel Montgomery and the Founders boys, and a some new music. Above are a couple of photos of Southern Seminary. It's a beautiful campus.

Nothing new this week, but here is one from about the same time last year. Love this one.

What a fun night. I took my two youngest boys, Daniel and Elijah, to see the Woodstock High School Blue Streaks varsity team beat the Grayslake team. It was a blast. Elijah even got to shag a foul and throw it back. That was obviously the highlight of his night. Gotta love it. Then we went to Taco Bell, an important place for male bonding through meat-like product consumption.
Kiss the Sky
I spent some time hanging with Joe Thorn today. It was partially because he's my best friend and it's fun to catch lunch with him. But it was mostly because I wanted to go to Kiss the Sky, a nice Geneva, IL music store with a great selection, to pick up the new Eluvium album, Copia. I also picked up Bert Jansch's The Black Swan and Loney, Dear's Loney, Noir. I had to leave so many good CD's behind, stuff I've been looking for. Glad I was able to bring home a few. Photo credit to THE Joe Thorn.

Had no new photos and Joe Thorn was making fun of me, so I took this photo with his camera at lunch (Mmm, BW3).

Saturday Update & "Phriday Photos"
It's cold here in central Illinois, the day after my Mom's funeral. Thanks for all your prayers. All went well as far as services and schedules go. There's no question that the more love and joy you have in your family, the more you are set up for great suffering if/when someone dies. But I gladly accept the suffering now for 34 years with a great Mom.
Please pray for my Dad who is really struggling right now, as you can expect. I have known few people who were as intertwined in life as my parents. We are going to watch the Cubs today, the Masters, and just talk a lot. My whole extended family has really been great here in Pontiac. A lot of people don't experience what I have experienced with so many relatives in one place, all who love each other very much. It's really wonderful. We will be leaving Sunday morning-ish to go home.
I missed Phriday Photos. So here are a few shots from early in the week. I was up until 4am on Tuesday trying to get some lightning photos as some strong storms passed through Woodstock (Mom died at 5:15pm later that day). Here are my favorites. There are more on my Flickr page.

I went downtown Woodstock and grabbed a few photos a few evenings back. This is our local theater. And we purchased new bikes for all of our kids. Elijah looks happy, eh?

Two photos I really love this week. The first is a rural Woodstock, IL photo I took a few evenings ago. I drove feverishly looking for a good view of the sunset and found this spot. With Spring here (and Spring weather, finally) it just was a delight to see God show something really beautiful.
The second photo is something beautiful God shows me everyday, my kids. These are my three boys, Elijah, Jack and Daniel (left to right; ages 6, 8, 4). They are dressed up for their sister's school concert, and looking feisty as ever. That hairdo is called "The Shark" and started by Elijah. It's actually their everyday hair.
