Arcade Fire: Funeral | Genius
The National: Trouble Will Find Me | One of the best albums of this year. Rare to get something this good and this cheap in the year it's released, so don't miss it.
The Avett Brothers: I and Love and You | Why say no when it feels so good to say yes?
The Dodos: Carrier | Brand spanking new. Metacritic 79/100 is solid.
Nirvana: Nevermind | If you don't know why you should own this, well I don't have enough space to list the reasons why. So nevermind.
The Black Crowes: Shake Your Money Maker | If you don't know why you should own this, well I don't know if I want to even try to explain how good it is. It's hard to handle.
The Head and the Heart: The Head and the Heart
Smashing Pumpkins: Siamese Dream
Atoms for Peace: Amok
The Mountain Goats: All Hail West Texas

New Music Tuesday | Oblivion Soundtrack

I'm no expert on soundtracks and scores, though there are some I just love. Part of the reason some are so appealing to me is they are cohesive and I occasionally find one that is a joy to play as I work, write, study, etc. One new soundtrack that fits my tastes and is by a band I just love, M83, is the Oblivion Soundtrack. I have no idea if the movie is any good, and at this point I don't care. I'm just enjoying the sounds as I work. And it's only $5 for a short time! Go get it.

As a blogger who faithfully tweets out great deals every month when Amazon lists their $5 albums, I'm afraid I have to say this month's crop is not good. Sorry, but Pink, and Katy Perry, and Asia just aren't doing it for me. I had to work hard to find the gems, and there are a few diamonds in the rough.
