A few nights ago in Chicago Mumford & Sons and Dawes combined for a Beatles cover of "With A Little Help From My Friends." No, I wasn't there, but this is something I would love to see live. Wow.

The Middle Brother album I can't stop talking about is $1.99. That's under $2 for an album I paid full price for and would do it again. BOOM! Get it. GET. IT.
I can't say enough about my love for Middle Brother. Very much enjoying their self-titled debut album. This supergroup is formed from the lead singer of one of my favorite bands Delta Spirit, as well as the lead singers of Deer Tick & Dawes. Here's "Blue Eyes" featuring (Matthew Vasquez of Delta Spirit) and an interview (colorful language). Also highly recommend Delta Spirit: History From Below and Ode to Sunshine.
Middle Brother released their first, self-titled album today. It's three singers from three bands I really like: Delta Spirit, Deer Tick, and Dawes. I was very eager to get it before I heard it, but it's now surpassed all my expectations. I want everyone to get this album.
The Low Anthem had my #5 album of 2009 called O My God, Charlie Darwin. Their new album, Smart Flesh, comes out on February 22nd. Here they are singing "Ghost Woman Blues" on Letterman. What a great band...
Okkervil River was the indie band that in many ways started my love for indie music. They were the first indie band I saw in concert a few years back because of their The Stage Names album. Their new album, I Am Very Far, is still very far off (May 10th) but it's great to get a listen to what's coming via Fallon (and a little AC Newman)...
