Music Monday 10.27.14

OUT TOMORROW - I'd like to highly encourage you to stream FREE the new The Twilight Sad album, Nobody Wants To Be Here and Nobody Wants To Leave. It's out tomorrow. I still regularly listen to their 2007 album, Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters. Love this band! Their music is wonderfully moody.

BURNING UP MY iPOD

• Delta Spirit: Into The Wide | I'm desperate to get as many as possible to discover this album. And it's only $5. A steal. I've listened to no album more this year and it's still pretty new.
• Hozier: Hozier | A bluesy, rock-soul album. Lots of enjoyable stuff on this one.

SONGS 

The Gray Havens have released a new song before the release of Fire & Stone in January 2015. Check out "Songs in the Night"...

One more. I often rediscover old albums and songs I loved and mentally misplaced for a while. Check out "Charlie Darwin" by The Low Anthem off of their outstanding 2009 album, Oh My God, Charlie Darwin.

Check Out Delta Spirit: Into the Wide

I've been mentioning this new album around social media lately and want so bad for everyone to check it out. Delta Spirit: Into the Wide ($6.99). I've enjoyed all their past albums and I've seen them in concert. Amazing live band. With all my praise in the past, they've outperformed my expectations. I LOVE this album.

I will have a review or response or something here or at CaPC at some point. But for now, just pick it up and let me know what you think.

Delta Spirit, one of my favorite bands, one of my favorite live bands, and has a new album releasing on 9.9 -- Into the Wide (pre-order for $6.99 and get 3 songs now). I've requested and received a review copy and I'm enjoying it a lot. At this point it is feeling like it will end up being my favorite DS album. My favorite song so far is "Push It," which is one of the three you get when you pre-order. I'll probably be posting on it at some point. The video for "From Now On" has just come out and it's great. It makes you think.

Music Monday | Middle Brother: "Blue Eyes"

I can't say enough about my love for Middle Brother. Very much enjoying their self-titled debut album. This supergroup is formed from the lead singer of one of my favorite bands Delta Spirit, as well as the lead singers of Deer Tick & Dawes. Here's "Blue Eyes" featuring (Matthew Vasquez of Delta Spirit) and an interview (colorful language). Also highly recommend Delta Spirit: History From Below and Ode to Sunshine.

Middle Brother - Must Buy Album

Middle Brother released their first, self-titled album today. It's three singers from three bands I really like: Delta Spirit, Deer Tick, and Dawes. I was very eager to get it before I heard it, but it's now surpassed all my expectations. I want everyone to get this album.

One of my favorite bands (and favorite live bands), Delta Spirit, showed up to play "White Table" on Kimmel.
