I lot of music stuff on the blog this week. Can't help it. It's all too good. Two more music posts today. First, The Avett Brothers play Kimmel with two new songs from The Carpenter (released today). Love getting quality live recordings from the Kimmel stage. First, "Live & Die," then "Febraury Seven."

New live album from Brandi Carlile is out today: Brandi Carlile Live at Benaroya Hall. This is one of my favorite singer-songwriters in the business, probably my wife's favorite and most-played music, and we have seen her twice in concert. Go get it!

On January 15, 2011, Shearwater presented the three albums of their thematically-linked 'Island Arc' Trilogy - Palo Santo, Rook, and The Golden Archipelago - in a sold-out, 3-hour epic concert with longtime friends and collaborators at Austin's Central Presbyterian Church. This album consists of excerpts from that concert, mixing favorites like "Hail, Mary" and "The Snow Leopard" with rarely-performed tracks like "Lost Boys," "Going is Song", and "Missing Islands".
One of the best bands in the world playing one of their best songs. Watch Arcade Fire live at the Juno Awards playing "Rococo" from The Suburbs ($5 right now). Outstanding.
